NaBloPoMo

Whoooossh. That’s the sound of me blowing the dust off this here blog of mine. It’s about an inch thick and tumbleweeds are rolling by. It’s pretty desolate over here.

I remember when I first came up with the idea of Melanie In The Middle. I was so excited to explore another type of blogging. After blogging about coupons, shopping and food for so long, I longed to write about something different. Something deeper, and more creative. Writing that came from my soul and not my coupon binder.

But life has a plan of its own, and the accident derailed me for a bit. I did come back here to write a few posts, but my mojo was gone. My readers on this blog vanished too. It’s funny how that works. You stop writing and people stop visiting. Go figure.

After attending the blogging conference Blissdom, I feel like I’m ready to recommit to Melanie In The Middle. One of the sessions I went to, which was taught by Jeff Goins, inspired me to write daily as a way of practicing. And with enough practice, the words are supposed to come more freely with time.

I’m willing to try.

In order to do that, I need to do two things…..

First of all, I need some creative writing help, which is why I’m joining BlogHer’s NaBloPoMo March writing prompt group. Every day I will be given a topic or theme to write about and I’m going to post it here at MIM. Hopefully this will inspire me to think and write about things that I haven’t thought of before.

Also, I need to change the format of this blog because I hate it. It’s the reason why I’ve stayed away from posting. I need pictures to tell my stories. I’m a highly visual person and this format is not working for me.

I’m not sure how soon I’ll be able to make that change, but it’s coming in the near future.

I have so many hopes and dreams for not only this blog, but for my future. So many of those dreams can’t be shared on The Coupon Goddess because it’s such an odd fit. I look at Melanie In The Middle as a kite that’s lying on the ground, waiting for a good gust of wind to get it flying again.

I’m just now feeling a gentle breeze…..

Oh, I feel the same way…I just don’t have much to say lately. I had intended to post something every week. The last time I posted? New Years Day. Oy! Daily is probably too much for me, but maybe I should aim for a couple days per week. It does seem if I start posting more often I get “on a roll.”

So – I’m still here and I feel your pain. Love both your blogs and looking forward to hearing more! :)

I’m still here. I check in about once a week or so since you slowed down. But, I will be checking back often. Still check TCG daily…. Welcome back.

I don’t know, I think a Tootle account sounds mighty interesting! Maybe you should buy the domain Tootle.com. It’s snappy sounding!

Whooosh. That’s us helping you blow the dust off. I almost commented on TCG that we missed you here. Then again, you put enough pressure on yourself, I think. You don’t need more from us.

We are glad you are back here. Really happy. You inspire me.

I completely understand you needing a break. But I LOVE reading anything you write! I follow you on TCG, too. But if you write here, I will be sure to read. I love hearing another opinion, it’s great to make me think! Glad to hear you are back! You inspire me in so many ways!
