Reader’s Choice

Ok folks. I have a dilemma. I have two recipes that I want to share, but I don’t like to do back to back recipes. So, I’m going to leave it up to you.

Which recipe makes your limbs feel like spaghetti? Which one has your heart skipping a beat? The chocolate lusciousness above, or….

This delectable breakfast brunch cake studded with blueberries? Your choice my lovelies. What say you?

  1. The chocolate…duh! :)

  2. Bwa ha ha. Some people don’t like chocolate. Not sure why. It’s a mystery that rivals Egyptian pyramids.

  8. Wow! I have a serious amount of chocolate lovers. Lol.

  9. I was going with #2 but it looks like I’ve been outvoted already…

  10. Sheila- You never know. It could be a sleeper recipe that pulls to the finish line first at the end of the race. ;)

Either way, both will go up within the next week or so. I just want to put up the most popular one first!

Good to know you’ll post both because I plan on picking up a few baskets of the 2/$4 blueberries when the new Market Basket in Bourne, MA opens on Tuesday and would love to make the brunch cake, too, esp. if I can freeze it. Ashamed to say I’ll probably pick up a couple of pkgs. of $1.99 bacon and $1.99 Italian sausages–expecting lots of company over the 4th! Bet they’d enjoy the chocolate dessert, too!!

  12. Laurie- I’ll see you there. My list is eerily similar to yours. I’m going after the bacon. And the blueberries are going in my freezer. Woot!

I know I might be crazy but I am probably the only one that would take blueberries over chocolate, I would love to make this for my co-workers, Yum!!

  14. I definitely vote for the chocolate! I saw the picture coming up and thought, “Oh my!” before I even read any of your text. LOL But I’m definitely interested in both. And I love that blueberries freeze as well as they do! I can try it now and try it again later too!

  15. Courtney says:

Chococlate please! I need to make whatever that is right now! :)

  18. I always vote for the chocolate!!!!! Looks delish!

  19. Wow, that’s a toughie- normally I would shout CHOCOLATE with no hesitation, but I’ve been looking for new breakfast recipes. So I guess I could go either way! If you’re making it, they’ll both be awesome. :<} And I for one don’t mind back to back recipe posts!

  20. chocolate, please. we have a big (16th) birthday coming up around these parts and that looks like something she would LOVE.

  22. Chocolate!!! Looks AMAZING!

  23. Melissa says:

I can pretty much take or leave chocolate (I’m a bit of an anomaly, I know), but that cake looks divine.

  24. I vote that you post both recipes! :O) But, if you’re going to make us choose which one I’d say the chocolate.

  28. C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E! Please! I’m begging you. I can practically smell it from here.

  29. I love cake in the morning! Let’s go for number two!

  30. CHOCOLATE! Ha!
    Really both look great.
I gave birth to a non chocolate lover. He doesn’t like loud music either.
I would say he was switched at the hospital, but he was born at home. No idea where I went wrong!

  31. Oh holy canoli! I don’t even like chocolate all that much, but the photo of the cake is just too tempting! YUM!!!

  32. Chocolate please!
Personally, I don’t think something can be classified as dessert unless it has chocolate in it.

Love chocolate, but the breakfast brunch cake recipe has my vote for first.

  35. Jennifer says:

    Blueberry brunch cake!

  36. Blueberry brunch cake. Blueberries over chocolate for me any day. I will also be at the new Market Basket. My blueberry bushes will not be producing this year due to a frost that killed all the early blossoms that came out due to the early heat wave. (Gosh, could anyone follow that sentence?)

  37. Anonymous says:

I say chocolate – I already have the blueberry one. Can’t wait for the new market in Bourne – we have had to travel to Sandwich or Falmouth to shop during the summer.

  38. Valerie S says:

    Chocolate, please.

  39. Bridge W says:

CHOCOLATE!!!! I am drooling after one glance at that picture!

But would also like to see the blueberry cake recipe at some point — I have bags and bags of frozen blueberries I need to use. :)

Back to Back recipes is never a bad thing!! :)
    Love new treats!
    Thanks!

  40. FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE, THE CHOCOLATE!! ;)

  41. Chocolate, of course! ;)

  43. Chocolate. Always the chocolate.

    blueberry cake

  45. Both look yummy, but the blueberry one is calling my name!

  46. Anonymous says:

I love the underdog so I vote for the blueberry coffee cake!

I do love chocolate though and am thrilled to know you plan to post both recipes. I personally have no problem with back to back recipes, especially ones that turn out yummy and are not difficult. I’m thinking the coffee cake looks more “doable” for my skill level than the chocolate wonder.

  47. Anonymous says:

The chocolate looks breath-taking! I want the recipe to this one!!!

  48. Anonymous says:

I have 2 pints of blueberries that I paid $1.29 ea for from Aldi in my fridge, so I pick the blueberry breakfast cake.

  49. Chocolate and then blueberry!!! Both look absolutely delicious!!!

  50. Anonymous says:

I want to eat the chocolate one first! But I think I want the other recipe :)

  51. Chocolate one :)

  52. Blueberry for me! They are on super sales this week and it would be a good excuse to eat cake for breakfast.

  53. One word answer: CHOCOLATE

  54. CHOCOLATE please!!!!!!!!!!!

  55. Oh, please do the Blueberry Brunch Cake!!!

  56. Anonymous says:

Chocolate first and the blueberry brunch cake later. I am still wiping up the drool off my keyboard from that first pic!
