I love dips. Hot dips. Cold dips. It matters not. I’m a dip girl. The problem is that I’m also an I need to lose a few pounds girl. So, I’m always on the hunt for yummy lower calorie alternatives to dunk into my favorite dips.
Pillsbury to the rescue. They have a new line of Baguette Chips that come in two different varieties. Italian Cheese & Herb and Cheddar Sun-dried Tomato.
Little crispy chips with savory toppings that have only 130 calories per serving. That’s a full 21 little edible plates for you to dunk into your favorite dips.
Regular potato chips have an average of 11 grams of fat while Pillsbury Baguette Chips only have 5 grams of fat per serving. A great alternative for those of us who love savory/salty foods, but not the side effects they have on the scale.
Darn scale.
I sampled my Baguette Chips with a salsa fresca to truly keep it low cal, but I can see these chips served with even thicker cheesier dips because they are hearty. You won’t have a bunch of broken chips drowning in your dip bowl. That’s never a good thing.
Not only did I enjoy the Baguette Chips, the kids liked them too. They felt that they paired well with hummus. I’ll have to trust them on that, as they polished off the hummus.
Darn kids.
