Combating Winter with Dove Body Wash

treesThis time of year totally dries my skin out. And when it’s cold and dry, my skin itches something awful. The cold air seems to suck all of the moisture out of my skin which makes my legs look like I’m part alligator. Parched and scaly. Not sexy and certainly not comfortable.

dove bodywashI’ve tried various body washes over the years. Usually I purchased whatever was the cheapest or had a coupon I could use towards the purchase. And what I learned through that trial and error process is that not all body washes are created equal. I found that Dove Body Wash was the way to go if I wanted to eliminate the itchy skin alligator look.

I also found that Dove Body Wash did not irritate my kid’s skin like many other products. Kids with sensitive skin need to be very careful with which skin care products they use.

So, when I was asked to be a Dove Mom Ambassador, it was a no brainer. Not only do I use their product, so do my kids.

I like that Dove Body Wash is made with 100% natural moisturizers and that it’s mild enough for my sensitive skin children. Recently Dove revamped their body washes by combining their mild cleansers with NutriumMositure for an even more absorbent mild wash.

I also like that it produces a good lather. The cheaper competitors just don’t lather up the same way or make my skin feel as silky as Dove Body Wash. And when you rinse it off, it doesn’t leave a greasy film behind. Just clean, moisturized skin. The way you should feel after taking a shower or bath.

I wrote this review while participating in a brand ambassador campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Dove and received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    I love Dove too!!

I have used only Dove unscented soap for many years. I buy it in bulk. Excellent at preventing dry skin.

    • I worked at a pool for several years while in high school and baked out in the sun. Therefore, my skin has had issues with being excessively dry. Dove has been great in helping alleviate that. 🙂

  3. Dove is the best! I bought some body wash and soap yesterday. It is the only soap that my son can use for his sensitive skin.

Dove’s products are all excellent! I love their shampoo and conditioner!!

My skin has been exceptionally itchy this winter, more than ever before. I haven’t changed any normal routines but maybe I should try Dove. Thank you for the endorsement and recommendation Melanie.

  7. I like that picture. It sure represents winter – leaf-less tree but the contrast with the gray-looking tree and the blue sky is pretty. And I use Dove. In fact, really glad for the Rite Aid deals on it last week because now I’m stocked again. That should get me through the winter, especially if the groundhog was correct in predicting spring is just around the corner.

    • From the groundhog’s lips to God’s ears. 😉 As desolate as that picture looks, I sort of like the contrast too. Thanks for noticing!

  8. Melanie, I use the Dove body wash too and LOVE it! Makes my dry skin so much more comfortable!
I always look forward to your blog but don’t always comment. I have been reading since before your accident last year and am so happy you are doing so well now!

They also have a winter care body wash that cured my itchy back. And, you’re right…not all washes are created equal!
