New Green Giant Veggie Chips Review

20130311_155207You know, as a blogger I am asked to review all kinds of products. But recently I was asked to review something quite new and interesting. Green Giant Veggie Chips. Yes, as in THE Green Giant we all know and love. The king of frozen foods has stepped out of the freezer case and set up camp in the snack foods aisle.

20130311_155333And this whole turn of events is pretty surprising. I mean, we are all familiar with Green Giant frozen foods. So, this is sort of a switcheroonie. To find  the jolly green guy in the snack foods section. It’s a little surprising.

When the folks at Green Giant asked me to check out their new Veggie Chips, they asked if I could also share with you a family talent that’s sort of surprising too. But here’s the thing….

I’ve been blogging for so long that I’m pretty sure you know all of our talents….

IMG_4925Michael is our resident artist.

IMG_7965And Aidan is our coffee house musician.

Those two I’m sure of. And while the rest of us all have our strengths in certain areas, I can’t say that we have anything that truly stands out as talent. BUT we love food and we are really good at eating it. Does that count? I sure hope so.

boxtopsWe certainly did a great job with making the Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips disappear. I think that almost makes us magicians.

Sweet potatoes, sea salt and 14 grams of whole grain with 40% less fat than regular potato chips. Yes, we did a great job of making those disappear. I never even got a picture of them.

The Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips were part of our vanishing act as well. The zesty cheddar flavored chips made with real veggies and 17 grams of whole grain poofed into thin air right before my eyes.

In a blink of an eye we went from a full bag to empty before anyone could say bibbidi bobbidi boo. That’s talent for sure.

We really enjoyed these new snacks. Green Giant Veggie Chips are a snack that you can feel good about eating. And check out the Box Top For Education on the back of the package. Bonus!

So, keep your eye out for these new snacks. Not in the freezer aisle, of course. In the snack foods aisle. Even jolly green giants need a break from the cold now and again!

These snack foods sound awesome! Everybody gets a craving once in awhile for that salty taste and the salty with cheese taste is the best in my book. Thank you for the review and the recommendation! Now, I checked out the Green Giant web site link… the contortionist had me cringing. How does she do that??!!

I bought a package of these about a week ago. I bought some more this week, too. My husband and I love the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips. There is currently a saving star deal on them and many coupons online to save you even more money. I will be buying more today. I just can’t get enough of them.

  3. Those Tortilla Chips looks mighty tasty! They’d be gone in a flash here!

  4. I LOVE when there are healthy reasons to SNACK! :) I am forever blown away by whonu’s! Now I have a reason to buy chips! woo-hoo! thanks!!!

  5. I love veggie chips. Food Should Taste Good and Terrachips are awesome.

But I have to say these chips are terrible for you.. Look at the ingredients list. It is extremely long, especially for the zesty cheddar variety, and full of unpronounceable junk. Sunflower oil comes up before red and green peppers. Yes, they taste good but IMO not much healthier than plain Doritoes (which they taste like) or Sun Chips. I can’t believe their marketing campaign.. totally unhealthy.
