Come Sail Away With Me, A Giveaway! (Local Boston Area)

Odyssey BostonHow awesome is girl’s night out? How much more awesome would it be if you spent it enjoying an indulgent champagne dinner cruise on the Boston Odyssey while taking in the spectacular Boston Harbor skyline?

Odyssey BostonSpending a night out on the town with close girlfriends is such a battery charger. Don’t you think? We women thrive on that one-on-one girl time and spending that time on a dinner cruise enjoying a fabulous meal, breathtaking views and live entertainment sure sounds like the perfect way to spend an evening.

From the moment you board the Odyssey, you know it’s going to be a very special evening. Being greeted with a glass of champagne is a really fabulous way to start.

And as you enjoy that glass of bubbly on the recently renovated deck while watching the sunset with your closest friends as you cruise around the harbor, you’ll feel your depleted battery recharge in a jiffy.

Time with girlfriends has a way of doing that.

Odyssey BostonAnd you would invite me along on your girl’s night out, right? Of course you would. Matter of fact, I’m not going to give you an option. I’m coming along. I mean, there’s champagne involved. You are not leaving me out of that equation.

So, here’s the skinny on this giveaway…

One winner is going to win a girl’s night out Friday Dinner Champagne Cruise on the Boston Odyssey for themselves plus one guest and you are cruising and dining with… ME!

Does that float your boat? Good. Here’s what you’re going to do to enter…

Comment on this post with your first name, last initial, the state you are from and why you want to go on a dinner cruise with yours truly and/or why you deserve a girl’s night out.

Now there are a couple of rules

No men allowed. Sorry guys.
You need to be within driving distance to Boston.
You need to be a little flexible with your dates because you and I are going to have to coordinate this shindig.
You need to like me. That would be a real awkward way to spend the evening if you didn’t.
And finally, you need to be 21. It is a champagne cruise, after all.

Entries must be received by Friday, August 9th 11:59pm EST. Good luck!

For more information on the Boston Odyssey, be sure to check out their website for sailing dates and ticket information.

Thank you to the Boston Odyssey for offering this very generous reader giveaway.

  3. Megan C (or G – the name change hasn’t gone through yet ;) I’m from MA and I want to go on a dinner cruise with you because it’s been wayyyy too long since we’ve seen each other and Champagne is really, really nice. 5. Katalin L says:

I’m from the Hartford area in Connecticut. I like you on your blogs, your Pinterest, Facebook, etc. I feel we are so similar in many ways after reading all your stories. I want to go on that cruise just to get to meet you and I love good food too. I think I deserve to go because I was just diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera, a rare blood (cancer) disease and who knows if I’ll get another chance like this again. You are already my friend, now I’d like to be yours if I get a chance to introduce myself to you in person. =)

  6. Spending an evening with you a d champagne sounds perfect!!

  11. Maribeth F. says:

Pick the woman from Shrewsbury!!!!! I stumbled across your blog about a year and a half ago and have been a daily reader since then. Food, children, bargain shopping or putting yourself out there with your candid personal thoughts I enjoy all of it. Thanks for the daily reads and I hope we get to meet.

  12. I like you, I really like you ! No awkwardness to worry about – unless you don’t like me so much.
My only dilemma – which foodie friend would I bring along to meet one of my fav food bloggers?
    That’s a problem I’m willing to solve.
Pick me, pick me – I’ll buy you a 2nd bottle of bubbly. Yes, that’s a flat out bribe promise!

  13. Laurie W.–MA
Do I HAVE to share you with anyone else?!? I feel guilty admitting to friends that I follow blogs for fear it might seem a little “weird” to them. However, my SIL (& college roommate) is always up for anything. And a warning: you would have to be willing to be seen in the company of “older” women who do not have cute outfits and shoes!

    • I am the least judgy person you will ever meet. I don’t care about your shoes or clothes. They are an artificial indicator of nothingness. I care about your heart.

  14. Rachel T says:

Why would I want to go on a dinner cruise with you?
    1. Because you’re amazing.
    2. Because the Odyssey Dinner Cruises are amazing.
    3. Because I like champagne.
    Why a night out?
    1. I have young children.
    2. I have young children.
    3. I have young children.

  15. I think you are cool and fun and HILARIOUS. I had such a nice time talking to you at that horrible restaurant way south of Boston—remember? The one where they tried way too hard and it had zero ambiance and the waiter was impossible to understand? And instead of writing reviews, we got to write to the PR person about why, exactly, the place was too terrible to review?

So I’d love to hang out with you…on this cruise or just for coffee sometime (or, hey, a run!).

Julia M., Massachusetts, very flexible schedule for the rest of August/September. Also I love nights out and fun adventures and champagne and getting to know people (like you!) better, and my husband doesn’t drink and gets seasick easily which is why I have never, ever, ever tried to win any Boston Odyssey giveaways before. I totally deserve this, so pick me. :)

  16. Renee K. Hull, MA
I would have loved to go with you because I thought you were a shorty like me. Now that I know you’re a tall person I’m not sure! You look so tiny.
I’m a SAHM that would love a night out.

  17. Kimberly says:

Kimberly F NY. I deserve the cruise because, between work and being a mother, I’ve been on the go like crazy. I need to get off the land in order to slow down. Plus I have always wanted to meet you because you’ve always either made me laugh or given me some great food for thought.

  18. Jen from Quincy says:

    Jen K from MA

I’d take my sister who works in Boston and lives in Southie! She’s a world traveler and a foodie and I think you’d love her just as much as I do!

  20. Seana M.- NY
For me, it would be doing something outside the box. Along with I think you are a wonderful and honest person. You’d have to recommend somewhere to stay. The last time I was in Boston we stayed in the outskirts and my sister’s car was vandalized :(

Love to meet you in person/I’m entering this because my mother’s cousin lives in Boston and needs a girls night out. You two seem like two peas in a pod and I know that you’ll be chatting away before the boat leaves the dock.

  27. Oh, this sounds like fun!!! I’d love to bring my Mom – she’s been helping me a lot this summer with my kids, and this would be a great night out for both of us.

    Jen T in NH

  28. This sounds fabulous. I am a writer (technical, but read everything) an I love the way you write. And reading your posts often puts a little bit more life into my life. I would love to meet you and to be able to do it on an Odyssey Cruise would be a lot of fun!

  29. Melissa T. says:

A couple years ago, when the Shaw’s thread on afullcup.com was prolific, you spearheaded a gathering in MA and I always regretted not taking the chance to meet you. I have always identified with most of what you write about. I am also a mother of 2 boys and 2 girls. My boys are also teenagers, my girls are a tween and wanna be tween and they range in ages of 9 to 16 years old. I have been through some personal struggles in the past few years and your blog has always inspired me to persevere. I have wanted a chance to get away for some time now, if for no other reason, to recharge my batteries. I live in Maine, but can make arrangements to get to the cruise.

  30. Pick Me!!! I live in Cambridge MA and would love to do this and know just who I would take! My neighbor and I have been talking about a girls night out for over a year but life keeps getting in the way and we never nail down a date! We need something to make us do it and this sounds perfect!
