The past couple of months have been sort of a blur. My life has been really busy. And usually busy works for me. I’m one of those people who’s more productive when I’m under pressure.
But even I have my limits. So it’s time for a vacation. And I’m pretty excited about this trip because I’m going somewhere I’ve never been before. Ireland!
Usually when I go away I research my destination. But this time around I’ve done zero research. I’ve just been too busy. But I’m not too concerned because this trip is actually for the conference TBEX which is a travel writer’s conference. I’m sure I’ll get some tips from some of the people I’m traveling with on what to see and do during my down time.
Why the heck would I go to a travel writer’s conference? Because I’m expanding the scope of A Beautiful Bite to cover culinary tourism. A natural off-shoot of what I already write about over there.
For the next seven days my writing on Melanie In The Middle will be sort of limited. Instead of writing, I’m just going to be putting up “Wordless Wednesday” style posts that will consist of pictures of things I find interesting. Whatever that may be.
And as I sit here waiting for my flight, this Yahoo story popped up on my screen. I’m thinking I shouldn’t read it. I’m also thinking I should go over to the bar and get a Guinness. Or two.
