Rockboard Scooter Review and a Giveaway!

I’m a huge fan of toys that get my kids outdoors and moving their bodies. With so many high tech gadgets commanding their attention, I find that it’s getting harder and harder to convince the kids to play outside.

But recently we had the opportunity to test out the Rockboard Scooter. And let me tell you, it was a struggle to get them into the house when it was time for dinner!

My eight year old all the way up to my soon to be eighteen year old loved it. Most scooters are made for a narrow age range, but the Rockboard Scooter is made for kids eight years of age all the way up to a kid/adult that weighs 200lbs.

The thing that makes the Rockboard Scooter different from other scooters is the rocking propulsion. Kids motor around by rocking back and forth on the deck, which is not only fun, but a good workout too!

The scooter itself is well constructed and quite sturdy. I like that it has a hand brake. With the ability to reach ten miles per hour, that hand brake could come in handy.

Another nice feature is that the Rockboard Scooter has a kickstand, which eliminates the scooter being left on the ground. And it’s fully collapsible for storage.

While all four of my kids had no problem riding the scooter, I found that my littlest one had a difficult time with the rocking motion. But then again, she is tiny and doesn’t have a lot of body mass to work with.

My other three had no problems figuring it out and were zooming around in no time. With my eldest heading off to college next year, I think this scooter would be just perfect for him to zip around campus from class to class on. No fuels costs and some extra exercise. A good way to combat the freshmen fifteen!

My son Michael made a short video of all the kids zipping around on the scooter. Clearly, a good time was had by all!

How would you like to win your own Rockboard Scooter (ARV $200)? Thanks to the fine folks at Rockboard, I have one to give away!

To enter, leave your first name, last initial, the state you are from, and who you are planning on giving your Rockboard to.

Entries must be received by Monday, August 20th 11:59pm ET. Good luck!

Check out Rockboard for more information on where you can purchase a Rockboard Scooter and while you are there, be sure to check out their other innovative outdoor play products!

This is not a sponsored post. Rockboard provided a scooter for our review. All opinions are my own.

Macy’s Rwanda Path To Peace and a Giveaway!

Rwanda Path to Peace is a healing journey and a source of sustainable living that utilizes the incredible skill of weaving that is passed down by generations of Rwandan women.

These women have seen their neighbors and their families destroyed by genocide and ethnic cleansing, leaving many of them broken and hopeless, lost in a country where women are considered second-rate citizens because of their gender.

Although the genocide was over a decade ago, the recovery from a tragedy of this magnitude is a constant struggle. The sale of the baskets through Macy’s has given these women a source of sustainable income.

The monies raised from this project help the weavers pay for shoes, essential supplies, school fees and uniforms. Not to mention food, candles and kerosene.

Much needed basics that seem like necessities to us, but for Rwandans they are gifts.

Besides those benefits, the women and their families get a sense of pride and worth in a place were that’s hard to find.

Macy’s was kind enough to send me a basket so I could see the beauty of their handiwork. Truly individual works of art. The basket is sturdy and well made so that it’s useful, but also a joy to look at.

There are many different styles to choose from and they are even currently on sale! A fine time to check it out.

How would you like to win one of these lovely baskets? To enter, comment on this post with your first name, last initial, the state you are from and which basket you’d like to win.

For an extra entry you can share this post on Twitter. Just be sure to leave a separate comment here letting me know that you did that with a link to the tweet.

Entries must be received by Wednesday, July 25th 11:59pm ET. Good luck!

This is not a sponsored post. I did receive a basket to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

BlogHer Food Wrap Up and a Giveaway

I will miss Seattle. Actually, I’ll miss the entire state of Washington.

A place with an emphasis on celebrating the finer things in life, but at the same time doesn’t take itself too seriously. A city that’s appreciative of art, food and music, but with a splash of whimsy thrown into the mix.

And even though the area is known for rainy days and gray skies, I found it to be a happy and laid back kind of town. Where strolling around has you bumping into unexpected delightful experiences everywhere you turn.

This is the bar at Purple, which was close to my hotel. If you love wine, you must visit.

For such an upscale bar, I was thrilled to find this sampling of four wines called Flight of Italy on the menu for only $21, which all of you wine aficionados will recognize as a good deal.

Oh, and the seafood. I had a hard time saying goodbye to that. Isn’t it strange how the east coast doesn’t have their own version of Pike Place Market? I wonder why that is? Here I am living in what’s known as one of the best places for seafood and there’s no magical market showcasing our fishermen’s bounty. Odd.

I’ll also miss the friends I’ve made while here. These conferences offer so many opportunities to meet other people who love to express themselves in creative ways.

You can always count on lively and passionate conversations at blogging conferences, which sort of makes sense since most bloggers are characters from the get go.

Seattle is awesome, but so is the rest of Washington state. So much natural beauty and local color.

Usually at blogging conferences I feel drained by the end. This conference felt like a vacation even though I worked my fanny off. It helps that I scheduled in an extra day to go off site and visit the surrounding area.

But sadly all good things must come to an end. I’m safely home after taking the red eye flight last night from Seattle to Boston. Coincidentally, I now understand the term red eye. I have two of them and they are in need of a pillow and blankie stat.

For my BlogHer Food giveaway, I picked up a few fun things from Williams Sonoma before I left. I found the two kid’s Marvel Comics aprons you see above and the Star Wars pancake forms. Aren’t they nifty? I just love when kids get excited about cooking.

I hadn’t anticipated much swag at this conference, but vendors did pass out some fun stuff including free product coupons. While not pictured, I’m also tossing in some of the swag I received which includes free product coupons, a nifty heat resistant cooking glove, and some product samples from companies showcasing their products.

You’ll have to trust me that you’ll be delighted because I’m too tired to take any more pictures.

To enter this giveaway, comment on this post by leaving your first name, last initial, and the state you are from. That’s it. Easy peasy. Entries must be received by Tuesday, June 19th 11:59pm ET. Good luck!

Stop & Shop Giveaway!

Stop & Shop recently reached out and asked if I’d like to try their private label products called Guaranteed Value. They sent an assortment of products including fruit juice, pasta sauce, salad dressing, sandwich cookies (not pictured, we ate them), and some seasonings.

As I mentioned, we scarfed down the cookies. They were good. Actually, we were all pleasantly surprised by how good they were. We also opened the apple juice which tasted just like, wait for it, apple juice! Yummy! Even though the products are a house brand, we really thought they were quite good.

Here’s what Stop & Shop has to say about the line:

With tightened family budgets, Stop & Shop is re-introducing its Guaranteed Value product line with a new look and new products all at compelling prices to help customers cut costs on a variety of products that every household needs.

All of the approximately 200 Guaranteed Value products have been quality tested and Stop & Shop will continuously be adding new items to help customers save throughout the store. Customers will find Guaranteed Value products at prices averaging 20 to 25 percent less than what they would pay for similar national brands and more than 60 percent of the line is sold for $2 or less.

How would you like to try out some of the Guaranteed Value products? Stop & Shop is offering a similar assortment (may vary), a $25.00 Stop & Shop gift card, and a reusable grocery tote to one lucky reader.

To enter, leave your first name, last initial and the state you are from in the comment section of this post. Entries must be received by Monday, February 20th 11:59 pm ET. Good luck!

Stop & Shop sent me the products you see above and a gift card to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Vicks To The Rescue Giveaway!

Has the ick invaded your house yet this winter? Ick as in a hacking cough, green drippy nose, and even worse, the dreaded fever? As a Mom, it’s one of my biggest struggles. It’s no fun at all to see your little ones suffering. And while the cold and flu season is hard to avoid, there are some good tools to assist you with caring for your kids.

Recently, I had the opportunity to check out the latest Vicks products. When I think of Vicks, I think of Vicks Vapor Rub. My Mom used to slather that stuff all over me when I had a cold. Vicks and chicken noodle soup. I remember them hand in hand.

Years later, Vicks has added some cool new products to their line which are a must have for every home. The Vicks Starry Night Cool Moisture Humidifier (ARV $54.99) not only offers moisture to help combat congestion, but a projector that transforms your child’s bedroom ceiling into a star filled sky. Useful and comforting. How cool is that?

Vicks also offers the Behind Ear Gentle Touch Thermometer with Fever InSight (ARV $29.84) which gives you a professional, accurate reading that is less invasive and easier to use on a sick and fussy child.

The behind the ear technology gives you a reading in just one second. A very helpful feature for when your kid is most likely not going to want to stay still for you to take their temperature.

While you may not be able to kiss away all of the sniffles and coughs, you can use tools like these to make things a little easier on your little one. For more information on these products, be sure to visit Vicks.

Want to win them? Vicks has offered both the Starry Night Cool Mist Humidifier and the Behind Ear Gentle Touch Thermometer with Fever InSight as a giveaway for one of my readers.

To enter this giveaway, comment on this post by leaving your first name, last initial, the state you are from and your best tip for keeping your child comfortable during cold and flu season. Entries must be received by Thursday, February 9th 11:59pm ET. Good luck!

Disclosure:
Vicks sent me the same products in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Happy Blogiversary To Me!

The first week of January marked my third year of blogging here on The Coupon Goddess. Three years. That’s a long time to be writing about coupons. That’s a long time to be writing about anything now that I think about it.

You’d think I’d run out of stuff to write about after three years. Fortunately, I’m never at a loss for words.

To celebrate three years of blogging, I’m going to give away an assortment of products that I think you’ll really like…

Don’t these look delicious? I can see these cookies perched on a plate next to a steaming mug of coffee.

I’m making this for dessert this coming weekend. I cannot wait.

Life is just better with cupcakes.

Can you think of a cuter way to start your kid’s day?

And you certainly can’t bake without a new William’s Sonoma pink and green striped apron.

All of the products shown will go to one lucky reader who comments on this post. Leave your first name, last initial, and the state you are from. Easy peasy. Entries must be received by Monday, January 30th 11:59pm ET.

It’s been an amazing three years here at TCG. Thank you for taking the time to come by. Your comments and visits mean the world to me and I cannot imagine life without you in it. You’ve all been a blessing. Thank you so much.

New Year’s Eve Eddie Bauer $100 Giveaway!

As I mentioned last month, I was invited to tour  the new Eddie Bauer store that opened in Braintree MA at the South Shore Plaza. Bloggers were encouraged to check out and try on the recently revamped line of clothing. I have to say, I was really impressed.

Eddie Bauer was not a store I’d often visit because I found the styles to be too sporty and not feminine enough for my taste. Times have changed, and now they carry a wonderful selection of woman’s clothing that’s more fitted and brightly colored. A welcome change that will certainly have me visiting more often.

I tried on some lovely sweaters, and a couple of cute quilted vests, but I fell in love with this down filled quilted coat. It’s white, and with four kids I know I’m asking for trouble, but I just adored the way it fit and flattered with the cinched waist.

It looks even better on the model. Funny how that happens. I bet she doesn’t have four kids who would stick their peanut butter and jelly fingers all over it.

You can see how Eddie Bauer is changing things up by adding jewelry and other fun accessories to their product line. Of course they still offer the rugged, outdoor apparel that they are known for, but now the woman’s styles are just more, ummmm, womanly. Yeah, that’s it.

To celebrate their new look, new store and a new year, Eddie Bauer is offering one of my readers a $100 shopping spree! To enter, leave your first name, last initial, the state you are from and what you’d buy. A new coat for you? A sweater for dear hubby? $100 goes a long way, especially with all of the items on sale at eddiebauer.com. Entries must be received by Friday, January 6th 11:59 pm ET. Good luck!

I received a gift card to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.
